GDG Limit 999 statt 255, auch in DB2 Utility TEMPLATE’s
Anwender von z/OS V2R2 dürfen sich über die Anhebung des GDG Limits (GDGLIMIT, GDG extended Format) freuen: Statt 255, wie in bisherigen z/OS-Versionen, ist nun die Grenze auf 999 angehoben worden.
Das neue, höhere z/OS GDG-Limit färbt auf DB2 TEMPLATE’s ab:
GDGLIMIT (integer)
Specifies the number of entries that are to be created
in a GDG base if a GDG DSN is specified and the base
does not already exist. If a GDG base does not already
exist and you do not want to define one, specify a
GDGLIMIT of zero (0).
| The default value is 99. The minimum value is 0.
| The maximum value depends on the z/OS release on which
| the subsystem is being executed. Prior to z/OS V2R2, the
| maximum value is 255. Beginning with z/OS V2R2, the
| maximum value is 999. To use values greater than 255,
| "GDGEXTENDED(YES)" must be specified in
| SYS1.PARMLIB(IGGCATxx). Otherwise, values above 255 will
| fail during allocation.
