IBM has updated the tutorial on installation and basic setup of DB2 Data Server Client, DB2 Connect and DB2 LUW servers, including licensing and ODBC application connectivity. The overview is organized as follows:

• Basic considerations, such as installation requirements, connecting with other DB2 products, client/server constellations, development and administration tools.
• Installation under Windows and Unix/Linux
• Creation of UserID’s, which are needed for access
• Creation of a DB2 instance after installation
• Installing the license for DB2 Server and DB2 Connect
• Defining connections to remote databases or setting up the TCP/IP listener to accept connections from remote clients
• Providing ODBC application connectivity or JDBC application connectivity, respectively
• Configuring SSL/TLS
